This policy describes the data actually collected, its purposes, the providers used, retention periods and available choices.
The data controller is the site publisher and can be contacted at contact@morocco-economics.com.
The site’s processing of personal data is governed by Moroccan Law No. 09-08 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data, under the supervision of the National Commission for the Control of Personal Data Protection (CNDP).
Under this law, you notably have rights to information, access, updating and rectification of your data, as well as a right to object on legitimate grounds. You may request erasure or blocking where processing is unlawful and may lodge a complaint with the CNDP.
For users located in the European Union or European Economic Area, processing concerning them also complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where it applies.
Subject to the conditions of the GDPR, these users may request access, rectification, erasure or restriction of processing, object to processing and exercise their right to data portability. They may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority in their country.
Where processing relies on consent, consent may be withdrawn at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. For Google Analytics 4, consent is collected and withdrawn through the site’s consent banner and the “Cookies” button in the footer, which reopens that banner.
After your consent, the site uses Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to measure audience in aggregate. GA4 then sets cookies (notably _ga and _ga_7KCM984Q9P) and sends Google measurement data such as pages viewed, referrer, usage events, the IP address and technical information about the browser and device.
Google acts as the provider of this service and may process this data, including transferring and storing it on servers located outside Morocco and the European Union, notably in the United States. The legal basis for this processing is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time; withdrawal stops collection and deletes the Google Analytics cookies that were set.
On your first visit, a consent banner is shown offering two equally weighted choices: “Accept” or “Refuse” audience measurement. The site content remains accessible and readable while the banner is displayed.
Until you accept, no measurement cookie or script is loaded: Google’s Consent Mode v2 is set to “denied” for analytics_storage by default, and the Google Analytics 4 script is loaded only after a click on “Accept”.
Your choice is stored in a strictly necessary preference cookie, meit-consent, kept for six months. You can change it at any time through the “Cookies” button in the footer, which reopens the banner; switching to “Refuse” stops collection and deletes the Google Analytics cookies.
The form stores the request type, title, message, email, optional name, feedback page URL, associated account where applicable, status, and creation or update dates in the Supabase/PostgreSQL feedback_requests table.
The application transmits the IP address to Upstash Redis as a temporary identifier to limit the form to five submissions per 60-second window. It is not stored in the feedback request; the User-Agent is neither read nor stored by this processing operation.
Feedback processing is based on the publisher’s legitimate interests in reviewing voluntarily submitted feedback, responding, and improving or securing the service, provided that the interests, rights and freedoms of the individuals concerned are not overridden.
Feedback is retained for 24 months from submission or its latest update. At the end of that period, it must be deleted or irreversibly anonymised, unless a legal obligation or dispute requires longer retention. No automated purge is currently active; until it is implemented, this rule requires manual deletion or anonymisation.
